Velta M. Fincham, 89, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Laurels of Coldwater. She was born June 17, 1923 in Sturgis to Jessie and Ila Miller.
She married Franklin Fincham and he preceded her in death July 1999.
Velta had worked at Crotty Corporation in Quincy retiring after 33 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion, Drill team and an associate member of VVA #730 all in Coldwater. She loved to bowl, crochet, embroider and play bingo.
Velta is survived by five children; George Fincham of Coldwater, Robert (Susie) Fincham of Homer, Norma Jean (Donald) Vanderpool of Quincy, Richard (Darlene) Fincham of Coldwater, Susan Hufnagle (Jeffrey Sickles) of Coldwater, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and a sister; Joyce Witham of LaGrange, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Franklin and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be Monday, June 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 102 Bishop Avenue, Coldwater with Rev. David Pierce officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the VVA Chapter 730, Coldwater.

Sue, I remember how your Mom always made us laugh and you would always say, Ma, don't tell everyone that. But she would just laugh some more. She was a good person and there was no doubt how much she loved you and your kids. We all are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.
