Obituary

Vennie Gladden Guyton "Boo-Boo", age 83, was born January 24, 1929. She was irreplaceable. A beautiful angel on earth left this world Sunday, August 05, 2012 to spend her eternal life with her precious Savior & Father, she is now rejoicing with the Saints who have gone on before her, forever praising Him. Immediately after hearing "Well done my good and Faithful servant", she then took her great granddaughter, Makenzie Jade into her arms exactly as Genny had requested. And then we feel sure she will sit and rock little "MJ" until Genny enters the pearly gates and is met by her and Papa saying these words, "Here Sugar, we've been...

And then we feel sure she will sit and rock little "MJ" until Genny enters the pearly gates and is met by her and Papa saying these words, "Here Sugar, we've been rocking her for you". To say we will miss her would be an under-statement. She was definitely the best of the best. She was an extra wonderful daughter, wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend. She was such a blessing to all of us in many ways. She enjoyed first and foremost times spent with her family. Also sewing, fishing with Lou Lou, and last but certainly not least to make sure no one ever left her house hungry. Her cooking was like Paula Deens. She was a bright shining light in all of our lives for 83 years. The saints in heaven are now rejoicing to have recently welcomed such a beautiful Christian woman. She was a dedicated member of the Rainbow Church of Christ for the past 30 years until she was no longer physically able to attend and Samson Avenue Church of Christ prior. Mrs. Guyton was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Guyton; son: Alan Guyton; parents: Charley and Geneva Gladden; brother: Buford "Boots" Gladden; sisters: Eunice "Tickie" Helms and Fidella Ballard; extra special great granddaughter: Makenzie Jade Pointer and special niece: Austin Ashley Miller,

Mrs. Guyton is survived by her family: son: Stephen Guyton; daughter: Myra (Gary) Pointer; grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Pointer; Genny Pointer, Garrett Pointer and Morgan Pointer. great grandchildren: Taylor and Alec Pointer; special sister: Miron Ozment; special brother: Herston Gladden, and many more extended family members, friends, brothers, and sisters in Christ.

I, (Myra) and my children, Michael, Genny, Garrett, and Morgan were so very blessed for the last 5 years to be her caregivers while she was stricken with broken hips and Alzheimer's disease.

Pallbearers will be Gary, Michael and Garrett Pointer, Stephen Guyton, Bobbie Darlene Miller, and Gregg Jacobs

Norman Flynn and Blake Jones will officiate the service and will bring forth thoughts and memories honoring Mrs. Guyton. The services will be held at 2:00pm and Wednesday, August 08, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Interment will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
The family will ask everyone to join them from 12:00 to 2:00pm before the service reminiscing memories of her beautiful life. Songs choices for the service, chosen by her beloved grandchildren will be Amazing Grace, I Can Only Imagine, I'll Fly Away and Sissy's Song.

May God bless all who blessed her life. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Comfort Care Hospice, and Amedisys Home Health for the love and compassion shown to her.
