Vernon Eugene Doshier was born November 29th, 1931 and lived his life to the fullest until April 19th, 2014. He was born to George and Naomi Adams Doshier in Indio, California. Vern's biological mother died when he was two years old. His father married Emma Allison when Vern was ten years old. The family moved to Jerome where he attended Canyonside School and graduated in 1950 from Jerome High School. After graduation, Vern served in the Army for two years. He was married in 1954 and had three beautiful daughters; Connie Box, Peggy Doshier, and Sherry (Bruce) Tenney. He was later divorced and moved to California where he attended...
Vernon Eugene Doshier was born November 29th, 1931 and lived his life to the fullest until April 19th, 2014. He was born to George and Naomi Adams Doshier in Indio, California. Vern's biological mother died when he was two years old. His father married Emma Allison when Vern was ten years old. The family moved to Jerome where he attended Canyonside School and graduated in 1950 from Jerome High School. After graduation, Vern served in the Army for two years.
He was married in 1954 and had three beautiful daughters; Connie Box, Peggy Doshier, and Sherry (Bruce) Tenney. He was later divorced and moved to California where he attended San Diego State and worked for Standard Oil. Vern returned to Idaho in 1960 and became the office manager for the Idaho Tax Commission in Twin Falls, Idaho. He worked in this position for 15 years.
In 1964 Vern married his best friend and true love, Pat Bodine. They shared almost 50 wonderful years together and were always by each other's side. Vern was a wonderful stepfather to Debbie (Dave) Van Engelen and Robert (Mary) Bodine during those years.
Vern became a realtor in 1974 and an associate broker in 1977. He was co-owner and broker of Doshier Realty and worked along side of his wife Pat until 1996 when they both retired.
Vern held numerous civic offices and took pride in his community involvement. He was President of the Twin Falls Men's Golf Association, served on the Twin Falls City Golf Advisory Board, President of MLS and was selected as Realtor of the year in 1988.
Vern loved his golf, spending winter at his home in Arizona and boating and fishing with his buddies.
Vern's greatest pride and joy was watching all his children, grand children, and great grandchildren grow into the special people they are!!
Vern is survived by his wife, Pat; all his children; brothers, Bert (Betty) Doshier and Dennis (Roberta) Doshier; and sisters Wendy (David) Giles and Mary Ann Doshier.
A memorial service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Wellness Tree, 173 Martin St., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
