I worked with Verne when he taught me HPLC, and we published a paper a long time ago. Verne had a good sense of humor-good thing since he had to train me! So sorry to hear of his passing-I just found a postcard he had sent right before I moved to Denver about one of his books and I had just ordered it when I found out. Will read both of them with fond memories.

Dr.simon was my supervisor for more than 10 years before he retired. He was one of the greatest people I have met. I learned a lot from him in chemistry field, and also in his profound knowledge in nature, culture, and language. He was so humble and patient in teaching in lab. He was always positive for people and things around him. His good attitude has been inspired me since he hired me as a chemist for the laboratory. He will be sorely missed.

I worked with Verne for many years at the Florida Department of Health, some of that time I was his supervisor, and I never met a nicer guy. He was soft spoken and always had a friendly disposition.

Verne became a friend if mine when we worked at the FL DOH. Since we retired, I've enjoyed visiting with him at special events held at the Lab. He had many friends there and we will sorely miss seeing him. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
