Vernon L. Bassett
Perkins – Vernon Lorene Bassett, age 94, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Bethany Home in Millen. She was born in Screven County, was self employed as a seamstress and was a member of Antioch Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Jack & Susan Daughtry Bassett.
Survivors: Daughter and Son-in-Law: Mary Ann & Carroll Saxon of Perkins; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Glynn & Gail Bassett of Perkins; Grandchildren: Beth S. & Gailyn Thompson of Millen, Buddy & Tina Saxon of Perkins, Jennifer B. & Wayne Rich of Millen, Michelle Bassett of Perkins and J. Glynn Bassett of Perkins; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. Brad Boynton, Rev. David Beavers and Rev. David Dixon officiating. Burial at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. She will lie in state from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers: Tony Bragg, Tracy Bragg, Chris Waters, Darrick Waters, Ray Waters and Rupert Aaron.
