Vernon Bruce Bridges age 75 of Laura, Ohio passed away at 12:50 P.M. Sunday November 11, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital Dayton, Ohio. He was born April 25, 1937 in Troy, Ohio and the son of the late Mearl & Jeanne (McMaken) Bridges.
He was retired from Dayton Progress as a Tool & Die maker and owner of Industrial Specialties of Laura.
Vernon was a member of Arcanum Masonic Lodge #295, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Dayton and the Greenville Matchett Council #91. He enjoyed fishing and his work.
He is survived by his wife Rita J. (Washington) Bridges of Laura. They were married September 11, 1960. Also by sons and daughter in law Bruce Lynn Bridges of Dayton and Tyler Lee and Linda Bridges of Union City. Ohio. Grandchildren Taylor Bridges, Jarryd Bridges, Sean Bridges, Jenna Bridges and Dexter Bridges. Brother and sister in law Kent and Marilyn Bridges of New Madison, mother in law Helen Washington of Laura and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday November 16, 2012 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Darke County Cancer Association.
