Victor F. Tomasso, 84, of Sea Ranch Lakes, Florida passed away on January 23, 2012. He was born on March 26, 1927 in New Britain, the son of the late Angelo and Nazzarena (Briganti) Tomasso. Victor is survived by his wife Edeltraut (Vicky) H. Tomasso and his son Victor P.; his sister Lucia Tomasso Scheer and her husband Dr. Edward Scheer; brother Angelo, Jr. and his wife Joy; nephews and nieces Michael, Nancy, Paul, James, Bill, Carol Tomasso Ficks and Edward H. Scheer, Jr; the Abate and Briganti family cousins and nine great - nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother George and brother William. He graduated from Cheshire Academy in 1945 and Babson College in 1951, where he served for many years as a Corporation Member. He was proud to serve his country in the US Navy during World War II. Victor will be remembered for his hard work and distinguished career as Vice President of Plants and Quarries of the Angelo Tomasso Company, where he worked in partnership with his three brothers until its merger with Ashland Oil in 1971. He remained active in the successor company Tilcon and became Chairman and CEO of affiliate Buchanan Marine which provided maritime services from Maine to Virginia. Victor generously supported many local charities. A memorial service will be celebrated at St. Ann Church, North Street, New Britain, on Thursday, January 26 at 1:30 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in Victor's memory can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, 150 Washington Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
