Vincent "Vince" Charles D'Agati died peacefully on May 4, 2012 after a short illness.

Vince was born on August 6, 1936 in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York. He was predeceased by his parents, Jerome D'Agati and Filomena "Fanny" (Crifo) D'Agati.

Vince graduated from Hasbrouck Heights High School and The Columbia School of Dental Technicians. Vince owned Quali-Dent Laboratories in Teaneck, Cresskill & Hillsdale for many years. His attention to fine detail and craftsmanship made him a trusted partner to many Dentists in Bergen County. Even in retirement, he was asked to consult as an expert in matching denture colors.

Vince married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" (DeJackmo) D'Agati, on May 5, 1962. She has been his "sweetie", best friend and golf partner for 50 years.

Vince was the father everyone hopes to have. He enjoyed coaching baseball for sons Paul and John, watching his son John's wrestling matches, daughter Amy's cheerleading competitions and daughter Lisa's school plays. He was often the lone spectator on the 9th Green for John and Paul's High School Golf matches. He was an active participant, fan and supporter in the lives of all of his children and grandchildren. While running his business, he usually left the house before dawn, but was home each day in time to enjoy life with his family.

His dedication to the community included serving as past President of Washington Commons Homeowner's Association in Washington Township.

Vince was an avid golfer for his entire adult life. He was a member of Rockland Country Club, The Tournament Chairman at Old Tappan Golf Course and The President of the Golf Club at Greenbriar Woodlands in Toms River.

Long before the advent of Food TV, Vince and his close friends loved to cook and entertain. He took fine cooking classes in Chinese and French cuisine, and would try out his skills with elaborate meals made for his friends and family. He was also an accomplished home wine maker.

Vince had a rare gift for connecting with people, and genuinely loved creating meaningful connections with people. He had the uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with a typical passing acquaintance and develop a genuine relationship with that person.

Vince lived by his personal motto: "he who hoots with the owls at night must be willing to soar with the eagles in the morning." In other words; enjoy yourself and the people around you but understand the importance of your responsibilities.

In addition to his wife Pat, he will be missed by his children, and sons and daughters in law: Lisa & Ricky Geerhart, John & Annmarie D'Agati, Paul & Charlene D'Agati, and Amy & Mike Luby. He will be remembered adoringly as "Doctor Fun" by his 6 grandchildren Anthony Catena, Tyler D'Agati, Kaitlyn Luby, Connor D'Agati, Avery D'Agati and Ryan Luby. He is also survived by his brother Charles and family, many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends.

Vince and Pat raised their children at St. Pius the X Roman Catholic Church in Old Tappan New Jersey, and were members of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Westwood and St. Luke's Church in Tom's River. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday, 1-5PM. The family will gather with their relatives and friends for the Funeral Mass at St. Andrew R.C. Church, Westwood, NJ on Monday at 10AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Memorial gifts may be made in Vince's name to The First Tee, World Golf Village, 425 Legacy Trail, St. Augustine, FL 32092 www.becker-funeralhome.com
