It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Viola Mae Martinole on 11/24/2016 at the age of 89. Mom was born and raised in Barton, ND where she received her Bachelor’s degree in education and taught business classes until she journeyed to Seattle, where she decided to stay.
She married John Martinole and had 2 daughters. Upon retiring from Boeing after 32 years you’d often find her on the golf course, many attest she had a great swing proven by her hole in one.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 4 sisters. She leaves behind her brother Ken Krefting, sister-in-law Elinor Kennedy, brother-in-law Kenneth Hall, daughters; Susan Rawlings (Alan Rawlings), Jacki Martinole (Dave McClellen), grandchildren; Chas (Mandy), Alex, and Ashley, great grandchildren; Regan, Wake, and Kameron. Also many nephews, nieces and wonderful friends. Mom brought joy and kindness to family and friends, we will miss her greatly. Our thanks to the Group Health Hospice team. We appreciate the calm compassionate nature of our case nurse Veronica and the Chaplain Arley.
A graveside service is to be held at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Seattle on 12/2/16 at 11:00 am with a 10:30 am viewing. Memorial service to follow at Kent Lutheran Church (336 2nd Ave) on 12/2/16 at 1pm. Family request remembrances to your favorite charities.
