Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, July 21st, 2017 at the age of 84. Born November 10th, 1932 in Moneycarragh, Clough, Northern Ireland. Predeceased by her husband Desmond and son Derek. Survived by her sons Alan (Shelley) and Andrew (Nancy). Sister to Mandy Amos, Elizabeth Whiting (John), Robert Allen (Joy) all of England. Sister and best friend to Caroline Kraft of Oshawa. Special aunt to Kelly and Justin, and Martin and Patricia of British Columbia. Auntie Violet will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in the U.K. Sister-in-law to George Edwards of Oshawa and Margaret Stockdale of Scotland. Loving grandmother of Janelle (Joe), Brianne (Erol), Jamie (Andrew), Matthew (Jay), Mitchell (Sarah), Jacob and Griffith. Loving great grandmother to Kensey, Addison, Claire and Amelia. Visitation is open to the public on Wednesday, July 26th at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Private family funeral to follow. Violet was known as Grandma Violet to many within her extended family. Her family was her "world".
