Well it's been a few months since you've gone to be with our Heavenly Father . I pray for strength for Belinda the boys your brothers and sisters well all of us. Our family gatherings will definitely not be the same. As you walked into a room and usually said what's going on or what's up. To know that most times a funny story was told, or maybe something funny would happen to one of us was always a joy. I will say that most of the time you were involved in that funny story or what ever happened that was so funny you were there. Please know that you are missed and loved your boys are so good I know that you and Belinda are proud. We will see you again some day until then I love you cuz. Mel

I am an insurance adjuster and Joe was my "guy" when I needed an honest point of view. One of my fondest memories was when a gentleman in Cartersville called me after we had settled his claim to tell me his roofer took his money. I immediately called Joe to see if he could help the customer with the $2500 being held back. Joe went to the home, and promptly called me back and said he could do it. No problem. I know Joe lost money on the roof, but that was the kind of guy he was. I will miss my friend.

I am very sorry to learn of the passing of Joey. He and I grew up together at Elm Street Elementary. His family had a cabin around the corner from our cabin at Lake Allatoona. Joey and his Dad would stop and pick me up to take me for a boat ride when they passed our dock.
Prayers lifted to Belinda and his children.

I was a good friend of Joey during childhood, but lost track of him for many years after he moved away. Facebook allowed me to see that he was still around and doing well. His untimely death is tragic and I have only good thoughts for his remaining family. RIP Joey Whorton. You were a great friend in my youth and I'm sure a great man in adulthood.

Words can't begin to fill the void in your hearts in this time of tragic loss, but please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Joey was my second cousin and although we hadn't seen him in almost 20 years at a Whorton family reunion in Cave Spring I have fond memories of him growing up. We used to go to his grandfathers house, Uncle Ted, most Sundays after church and ride a homemade motorized cart Uncle Ted built for Joey and Lori. Joey always had a smile and positive attitude any time you saw him. May Peace be with you all in this time of loss.

Mr. Whorton was always smiling and joy to be around! I came to know him and his family from Cartersville Country Club for years where he was an avid golfer whom loved his group of friends and his family! He supported the club at time I was there and helped so many every chance he could. I am deeply saddened by this loss and my heart hurts for the family. Forever in our hearts! I pray that the family will find peace and comfort through this most difficult time. God Bless all of you!
