Virginia Dare Jenkins Anderson, 90, of Culpeper, VA passed away in Mountain View Nursing Home, Aroda, VA, May 12, 2017. Mrs. Anderson was born to Irving Jenkins and Merca Dodson Jenkins September 10, 1926.
Virginia was a loving wife and mother; a past Sunday School teacher, G.A. leader and sang in the choir at Bethel Baptist Church; served as a past PTA president, Homemaker Club president and secretary, and was a "pink lady" at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She encouraged and supported each of her children through 4-H programs and served as a past Farm Show Homemakers Dept. president. She was a hairdresser at the Baptist Home for 23 years.
Surviving Mrs. Anderson are her children Joan Proctor (Kyle), Ken Anderson (Edith), Sue Hughes (Jason) and Patricia Barfield (Bob); her grandchildren, John Clatterbaugh (Barbara), Tiffany Terry, Teresa Proctor, Amanda Campbell (Richard), Melanie Hart (DJ), Kendall Anderson (Dale), John Anderson (Morgan), Wesley Hughes, Andrew Hughes, David Barfield (Jamie), Brian Barfield (Amanda) and Justin Barfield (Kathryn), 10 great-grandchildren; a brother IW Jenkins of TN and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Jr. Anderson and her siblings Mildred Frederick, Lucretia Juliano, Carolyn Rosenkoff and William F. Jenkins.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided for their mom for the past three years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Clore-English Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 7:00p.m.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 4:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy should be given in Virginia's memory to the Mountain View Nursing Home, 1776 Elly Road, Aroda, VA 22709 or to the C-M-R Farm Show Fund, c/o Andy Anderson, 4489 Hoover Rd. Reva VA 22735-2225.

I was so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing you will see her again one day. I will always warmly remember our evenings at the Pot and Kettle Club where our families would come together to enjoy each others company. The evenings were usually topped off at your parents home eating a wonderful breakfast feast that your mom would quickly whip up in the kitchen for the enjoyment of everyone. May you keep your memories as warm and close to the heart.
