Virginia Kennedy Galloway, age 84 of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017 at McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN. She was born in Waycross, GA on February 16, 1933 to the late Hiram and Mary Lee Kennedy and grew up in southern Georgia and northern Florida where she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1951.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Frank Galloway; her children, Jere Galloway, Jr. (Annette) of Winter Haven, FL, David Galloway of Nashville, TN, Liz Beatty (Yarnell) of Brentwood, TN; her sister, Betty Kent of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Christopher Galloway (Danielle); Cameron and Donovan Galloway; Matthias Beatty; Arabella, McKenzie and Gabrielle Galloway; and two great-grandchildren, Cali and Callen Galloway. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Michael and Timothy Galloway, a grandson, Alex Beatty, and sister, Gwen Cate.
Virginia was a supportive military spouse; a devoted mother and grandmother; an avid reader, collector of epitaphs and a lifelong learner; a talented artist and published poet; a quick wit who loved to evoke laughter in others; an engaging listener to strangers; and a faithful child of God who studied the scriptures throughout her life.
On Saturday, September 30, 2017 there will be a visitation from 9-11 AM followed by a Celebration of Life and Witness to the Resurrection service at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church (9000 Concord Road, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027, at the corner of Wilson Pike and Concord Road) at 11 AM. A graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, (1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville) will be held later that day at 2:30 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.mountolivet.com
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Brentwood Presbyterian Church in her name.

Virginia was a very special lady.She had an answer for everything and not afraid to say it. She had lots of funny stories. I hope she wrote some of them down for her family. We will miss her.
