Virginia Kennedy Galloway, age 84 of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017 at McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN. She was born in Waycross, GA on February 16, 1933 to the late Hiram and Mary Lee Kennedy and grew up in southern Georgia and northern Florida where she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1951.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Frank Galloway; her children, Jere Galloway, Jr. (Annette) of Winter Haven, FL, David Galloway of Nashville, TN, Liz Beatty (Yarnell) of Brentwood, TN; her sister, Betty Kent of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Christopher Galloway (Danielle); Cameron and Donovan Galloway; Matthias Beatty; Arabella, McKenzie and Gabrielle Galloway; and two great-grandchildren, Cali and Callen Galloway. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Michael and Timothy Galloway, a grandson, Alex Beatty, and sister, Gwen Cate.

Virginia was a supportive military spouse; a devoted mother and grandmother; an avid reader, collector of epitaphs and a lifelong learner; a talented artist and published poet; a quick wit who loved to evoke laughter in others; an engaging listener to strangers; and a faithful child of God who studied the scriptures throughout her life.

Virginia was a very special lady. She had an answer for everything and not afraid to say it. She had lots of funny stories. I hope she wrote some of them down for her family. We will miss her.

I am saddened by Virginia's passing. She was a wonderful aunt to me and I always thought she was so pretty. I will miss her dearly.
