Virginia Lee Bass Hanson died November 21th, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Emmett C. Hanson. She was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School in that church and other churches wherever she lived since nineteen years of age. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia and Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Her three children are James Major of Hilton Head, SC, Donna Lee of Rock Hill, SC and Eugenia B. Smith of Charlotte, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27th at Ephesus Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ephesus Baptist Church, 6767 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27606.
