Published by Legacy Remembers on May 15, 2017.

Services for Virginia Maxine Padgett, 90, of Chandler, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.

Virginia was born October 16, 1926 in Glenwood, Arkansas to Davis and Ollie Short Whisenhunt. She passed away May 13, 2017 in Chandler.

She met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Padgett in Phoenix, Arizona. They married in September 1953 and enjoyed 58 happy, loving years together. Bob had a career with the U.S. Air Force, allowing the Padgetts and their children to travel and have adventures throughout the U.S. and Internationally.

Virginia and Bob spent their retirement years in the Chandler area and were members of the First United Methodist Church in Chandler. Virginia's passion was dancing and she loved all kinds of music. She and Bob even went to a ZZ Top concert when she was in her eighties. She was known for her youthful spirit and her love for her family. She was a great cook, which was one of many ways she shared her love.

Virginia is survived by three children daughter Diane Cook and her husband Wilson, son Ron Padgett and his wife Ann, and son Michael Padgett and his wife Sheila; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers Billy Whisenhunt and Roy Whisenhunt and various nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Padgett and two brothers, Barney Whisenhunt and Bobby Whisenhunt.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.

We are so sorry for your loss. Ms Virginia was such a sweet friend to my Mother, Martha Phillips, when they were residents at Atria Copeland. My Mother passed away on Sunday May 14th - so they're together again in Heaven. No doubt Ms Virginia is dancing there! She was a delightful, caring individual - it was a pleasure to call her friend!

Ms. Virginia was, without a doubt, one of the most precious souls we have ever met. We have so many fond memories of her and Bob as neighbors on Silverwood Street in Chandler. Blessed to have known them both! I know there is a very happy couple in Heaven; together once again! Our condolences are with your family.
God Bless,
The Essary's
