Virginia M. Fuller, 94, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1919, in Coalgate, OK to Italian immigrants Joseph and Katie (Barta) Ellena.

Virginia joined the U.S. Navy WAVES in 1944 during WWII. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #1114. She worked at Deaconess Hospital as a nurse's aide and was a longtime member of Garvinwood General Baptist Church. She enjoyed handcrafts, reading, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, George Simmons, Jr.; second husband, Wallace Fuller; seven sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam (James) Stone of Henderson, KY and Donna Craig of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Stone and Jason (Christy) Stone, both of Henderson, KY and Shane Craig of Evansville, IN; great granddaughters, Abbey and Ellie Payne and Jewel Stone, all of Henderson; several nieces and nephews; good friend, Esther Dempsey; and her cat, Lilly.

Services with military rites will be 1:30 PM Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brett Ryor, Sr. and the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Garvinwood General Baptist Church.
