Virginia had that great smile. I fondly remember her at our neighborhood dinner club gatherings here in Austin. She would always greet me with a hug and a cheerful "I am so glad to see you". She sparked happiness in all of us. What a fine addition to our neighborhood she was. We shall miss her.

I enjoyed seeing the pictures of your mom. She looked like she was thoroughly enjoying herself. I only knew Virginia in her later years at the nursing home, but the pictures and guest book entries gave me a glimpse into her life. Trudy, your mom was a blessing to so many. You were so devoted to her and took excellent care of her. I will miss seeing you at GracyWoods.

Rest in peace my sweet Aunt Virginia. God has received a special angel with your passing. Your smile & laughter will be missed but will linger in our hearts and memories for a lifetime. Cards you wrote me with your heart felt stories you chose to share with me are stored in my keep sakes and will be cherished always. My trip to Austin when I was in Texas and my last visit with you will remind me that even when your body and your memory failed you...you brought laughter & joy to those around you. Whether you rememembered me when I visited was not important..it was the fun we had tossing balloons laughing as you battled your own body failing you. Your words and cards over the years always spoke of your dreams to be near your beloved Trudi and her family and your grand babies so I find peace knowing that your dreams came true and in your final days Trudi & her family were able to spend time with you and took such loving care of you as God made plans to make you his next angel. Trudi and family I am sad I can't come in from California for my personal good bye and to mourn with you and our family. Please give Aunt Virginia a kiss for me and tell her...until we meet again... Love you, Cecilia Maida (Northern California)

To be part of her life was a joy unknown. She and Sissy Cope would make Louise and myself a playhouse on dirt. It looked so nice they traded us for the bad one. What fun to be raised with her at grandparents house and our home. Grandma Barnes could not get us to sleep (4 of us in 1 bed) because of laughing...also, Grandpa B. had the same problem at kitchen table. Oh, the joy, fun, sadness to share was a blessing thru life. When her memory started to fail it was still our VIRGINIA that we remember and loved thru it. See loved her neices/nephews
(great and great-great) and showed it kindness and love.

Aunt Virginia.... a highlight of my childhood. Cherished memories of a unique individual who had a light heart, a ready laugh and a generosity greater than any I have ever known. Trudy, I hope you know the joy that your mother brought into our world. Without a doubt, she is at rest with Jesus.

To my Aunt Virginia who I shared a wonderful life with. The laughter, joy, fun, and sadness. She and Sissy Cope made the best playhouses for Louise and myself and traded with us because made and looked better. We laughed at everything and Grandma Barnes could not get us to sleep (we all slept in 1 bed). Same goes for mealtime-laughter got to Grandpa Barnes. I missed the times we shared when memory began to fade-but it was still VIRGINIA. She loved all of her neices/nephews(great and great-great)with the same and equal love. She was our AUNT VEE to all the family.
