Virginia Olive "Aunt Oddie" Owens, 92, of Louisville, passed away at Baptist Hospital East after a long illness. She was the former Virginia Fishback and a retiree from General Electric. Ginny was a member of Fern Creek Christian Church and was a very crafty person. She loved to quilt, sew, crochet and paint. Her home was adorned with many of her paintings and hand work pieces. In addition to her loving husband, Edward F. Owens, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Virginia Olive "Aunt Oddie" Owens, 92, of Louisville, passed away at Baptist Hospital East after a long illness. She was the former Virginia Fishback and a retiree from General Electric.

Ginny was a member of Fern Creek Christian Church and was a very crafty person. She loved to quilt, sew, crochet and paint. Her home was adorned with many of her paintings and hand work pieces.

In addition to her loving husband, Edward F. Owens, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Cherishing her memory are her numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life service for Ginny will be on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Fern Creek Christian Church or Hosparus.

The family would like to extend a very special "Thanks" to the neighbors, family and friends that looked after Jenny with such love and caring over the last several years.
