Vivian Chang was born in Queens, NY and spent her childhood years on Long Island, NY. She was a vivacious person with a larger-than-life personality that people were drawn to.

In high school she was well-loved by her peers, and was elected by her senior class as Prom queen and Homecoming queen. She attended college at New York University (NYU), where she also worked at the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science. At NYU she received the Chancellor's Service Award, and was selected as the diploma recipient for the College of Arts and Science at the Class of 1988 graduation ceremony. After college, she attended Touro Law School on Long Island, and graduated with a J.D. degree in 1991. Vivian received the American Jurisprudence Award at Touro, and was Vice President of the Touro Law School Student Bar Association, amongst several other honors. As an attorney, she practiced as a Hearing Examiner for the Kings County Family Court in Brooklyn, NY.

At the age of 15, Vivian met and fell in love with her life-long best friend, John Chung. John and Vivian were married in November 1995 and, soon afterward, she and John relocated to Florida. In September 2000, Vivian gave birth to their twin boys, Anthony and Michael. From the moment they were born, Anthony and Michael were the joy of her life, and her heart was filled with love for her family.

In February of 2005 Vivian suffered a devastating hemorrhagic stroke which resulted in complete right-sided hemiplegia, and other debilitating complications. But even with all these setbacks, she rarely complained. Her husband and her boys loved and supported her, and she in turn continued to be an attentive and nurturing mother, her extraordinary boys being a testament to the loving home they were raised in. Her love for her family was limitless.

Vivian passed away on August 8th, 2014 from cardiac complications, after a long battle with chronic illness. She was surrounded by her family when she passed peacefully.
