W. Michael Stavenik, 75, passed away unexpectedly, August 9, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital. He was the son of Bill and Frieda (Heyerly) Stavenik of Monroe, IN. He resided in Ft Wayne since 1968. He worked as a custodian for several years at Lakeside Bowling & Golf. He loved trains and was a lifelong member and contributor to the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. He often expressed gratitude for his caregivers at Benchmark Services. He is survived by sisters, Karlo (Maynard) Logan and Roxann (Don) Carpenter both of Ft Wayne; niece, Leah Logan of Indianapolis; nephews, Jordan (Allison) Logan of Muncie, IN, Jonah (Kathryn) Carpenter of Noblesville, Luke (Shelly) Carpenter, and Andrew (Emily) Carpenter of Fort Wayne; three great-nieces; and four great-nephews, whom he cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-nephew, Graham Carpenter. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with calling one hour prior to services. Calling will also be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Bluffton, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Life Training Institute or SPIM (South Pacific Island Ministries).

My sympathy to Karlo and Roxy. My brothers and I have fond memories of growing up in Monroe with Mike. I saw him years later when he was working at Lakeside. He asked after each of my brothers by name. He was a sweet guy.
