Obituary

W. Ray Allen, 81 passed away June 17, 2017. Ray grew up in Kentucky and resided in Beech Grove, Indiana. He attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Ray retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, the former Anne Lea Sheucraft; daughter, Sherry Anne Allen-Yates; Grandchildren, Justin, Kyle and Autumn. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Ray Allen. He was born October 5, 1935 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Joe Carl and Mabel Redmond Allen. He was born October 5, 1935 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Joe Carl and Mabel Redmond Allen. Ray had seven siblings: Joe Morgan (& JoAnn) Allen, Juanita Madison, the late Betty Druien, Bob Allen, the late Glenn Allen, Tom (& Marcia) Allen, John (& Marguerite) Allen.
Ray loved music, especially bluegrass, classic country and southern gospel. He enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals and particularly liked the comedic bluegrass band, "The Moron Brothers". Ray loved cars of every kind, working on cars, car shows and especially car races. He never missed watching a NASCAR race. Ray loved having fun and spending time with his extended family.
Services will be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, located at 1310 Main Street in Beech Grove. Visitation will be on Friday, June 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
