W. Steve Edens passed away on August 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Flem and Odell Edens, a very special grandmother, Mossie Jones, and the love of his life, his wife, Mary Jo.
He is survived by his sons, Randy and wife Diane and Chris, his daughter, Sharon Moye and husband Morgan, three grandsons, Hunter Edens, Taylor and Hampton Moye, sisters Nadine Gott and husband Bill, Freddie Foster and husband Doug, several special nieces and nephews and their families, brother-in-law Doug Wyatt and wife Judy.
W. S. served honorably in the U. S. Air Force. He enjoyed a long career in automobile racing and was a fixture in Nascar, representing Crane Cams. He loved spending time with his dog, Lilly. He had many friends that he enjoyed talking to on the phone, a longtime friend, friend Donald Grigg.
The family will receive friends at East Lawn Chapel on Wednesday, August 31 at noon followed by a service a 1:00 with Pastor Phil Whittamore officiating. Entombment will follow. East Lawn Funeral Home is honored to serve the Edens Family.

I always remember Steve and Mary Jo as the most wonderful couple and true friends when I first moved to Daytona Beach. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

WS was so very kind to me & my mother, welcomed me into the family, and shared his heritage. When he & Aunt Freddie visited, he even repaired our door. Praise God for the gift of eternal life!

It was my privilege to have been friends with Steve (WS to me) since the 3rd grade at West View School. I enjoyed the calls we had with each other and the last time we were in Kingsport at the same time. I know he will be missed. My condolences to all him family.
