WALL, Walter William "Pete" Wilde passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Shannon Medical Center surrounded by his family. He fought a long and courageous battle with lung disease. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on
Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall with Father Joe Choutapalli and Father Chinnapuredy Pagidela as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery. Pete was born on September 20, 1943 in San Angelo, Texas, the oldest of 6 children of Fenton and Velma Jacob Wilde. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Wall High School in 1962. He attended San Angelo College and Texas Tech University. He was a farmer in the Wall and St. Lawrence areas. Pete and Joyce Marie Dorotik were married November 30, 1968 in Austin, Texas at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They were blessed with 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. Walter Wilde was a fun dad… and grandpa. He supported his three girls in everything they did throughout all phases of their childhood and into adulthood. He was there to fix anything and do anything the girls wanted or needed with no hesitation and with a big smile on his face. He loved the men they each married like sons. When each of his grandchildren was born, he was there to welcome them with his big loving heart. He loved his time with his girls and grandchildren. Being homebound in his last years, he found his greatest joy in listening to his only grandson play football on the radio, watching his granddaughters perform songs and cheers for him, and having special talks and prayer time with each of them. Pete was also a great husband. He did so much behind the scenes at J. Wilde's to support Joyce with all her eccentric endeavors. They enjoyed working and travelling together for many years to markets and shows throughout the United States. His quiet contributions deserve so much credit for the success of the business. But best of all, he loved us all with all his heart. Right down until the very end, he was so unselfish. He made sure we all knew how much he loved us, and his faith in God never faltered. We could never imagine him not being in our lives, but look forward to reuniting with him in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his father, Fenton Wilde; his brother, Jimmy Wilde; his father in law, LeRoy Dorotik,; and his sister in law, Debbie Wilde. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce; their 3 daughters Missey Dacy and husband Russell of Wall, Jenny
Millican and husband Vance of Harper, and Katy Green and husband Brandon of Wall; 5 grandchildren, Luke and Kylee Dacy, Talli Millican, Julia and Emily Green; his mother Velma Jacob Wilde of Olfen; his sisters and brothers in law, Susan and Lee Jost of
Olfen and Karen and Bobby Eggemeyer of Wall; his brothers Danny Wilde and Alan Wilde, both of Wall; his sister in law and brother in law, Linda and Ronnie Walker of Rankin, numerous nieces and nephews; and his mother in law, Leona Dorotik. Pall bearers will be Glen Petet, Ronnie Marecek, Doug Wilde, Gary Jacob, Scott Hohensee, and nephews Brad Eggemeyer, Baylor Walker, and Patrick Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Don McAfee, Took Edwards, Richard Wilde, Monroe Dacy, John Brunson, and Ronnie Walker.
