God called another of his angels home on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Wanda Faye Hagedorn, age 76, formerly of Paris, Mexico, and Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, prayers, and love.
Wanda was raised on a farm near Farmington, Missouri, the daughter of Kenny & Neta Schneider who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister-at-heart and best friend Dixie Hagedorn and Barney Hagedorn of Mexico, Missouri. She is also survived by her four children and their spouses: Jon & Whitney Hagedorn of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Garry & Julie Hagedorn of Sturgeon, Missouri; Ruthann & Van Lawrence of Montague, Michigan; and Sherry & Jerry Abbott of Boone, Iowa. Wanda is also survived by her nine grandchildren and their spouses: Andy Hagedorn, Cassie Hagedorn, Zach & Olivia Nixon, Jenna & Mitch Cook, Tony Hagedorn, Tracy Lawrence, Hannah Lawrence, Aaron Abbott, and Jordan Abbott. In addition, she had that pride only a great-grandmother can have for the miracles of great-grand kids she knew were soon to come.
Our beloved Wanda lived for her children and grandchildren, traveling across the globe with Jon, Whitney, and Jane Bertels, Mizzou football tailgate parties, Carl Edward’s NASCAR Races, boating, bird watching, and feeding the troves of neighborhood hummingbirds. She took quiet pride in her many accomplishments including her decades of work at both Audrain Medical Center & Boone Hospital, her life working and raising kids on a family farm, and cooking her three famous dishes of butterhorns, chili, and macheta.
Celebration of life gathering will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 19th at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials please be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

Worked with Wanda at Audrain Medical Center for more than 25 years. Loved to hear her laugh with all the girls in the Patient Accounts Department. Lots of fond memories of watching her children grow up and all the great times in the office.R.I.P.
