Wanda Lea (Conley) Cox passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 10, 2016 in her hometown of Louisville, KY. She was born August 20, 1935 to Sam and Zelma Conley. Wanda joined the Cox clan when she married Robert Anthony Cox (Deceased May 7, 2011). Wanda was a caring and loving mother to her two sons, Scott Anthony (Carol Deegan) Cox and Kevin Robert Cox. She also cherished her two granddaughters, Alyssa Boyea and Erica Cox, Kevin's twin daughters. Wanda was also great-grandmother to Jayden and Ella Leanne, Erica's son and daughter.
In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother she had a long career as a medical transcriptionist here in Louisville and Florida. She also was a courageous breast cancer survivor. She will be truly missed by many family and friends, particularly her special friend Tom Pardue who was at her side constantly during her recent illness. We now have another angel in heaven to watch over us.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Heartfelt sympathy to family and friends in the loss of this special lady. Wanda and I have been friends since working together in the office of Pepsi Cola in the 1960's! We have shared life's ups and downs, laughter and tears, and the gift of wonderful friendship. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and indeed she made my life much richer by having the gift of knowing her. Blessings and love.

My deepest condolences. I remember Wanda from Dr. Clarence Denton's office in Louisville. She always helped patients like they were one of her family. I will remember Wanda in my daily prayers, and pray for her entire family at this difficult time.
