Wanda Lee Bell Campbell Lewis

Born in Porterville, California and passed away in Arvada, Colorado. The Only Child & Daughter of Nick John Bell & Opal Delores Graves She came to Denver, to live with her Grandmother, Rev Luella 'Dollie' Graves at age 5; Taking up violin in junior high school, she continued through high school as 2nd chair violinist. In 1951, she graduated from East High School, Denver, CO

She married James Archer Campbell – June 14, 1952. Together they had three children – Whitney Lee Elizabeth Campbell, James Steven Campbell, & Michael Nicholas Campbell. She was employed by Gambles-Skogmo, Inc (a hardware chain) from 1959, until they closed their local warehouse around 1979. Divorced April 27, 1977, she helped raise her grandchild, Shawna Lee for five years. She enjoyed a brief 'single' life, dancing and dining out with her friend, Frank Given.

Her 2nd marriage was to Carl Lewis – 1980; Byers, CO. They traveled quite a bit during their brief marriage. She remembered fondly, their trip to Branson, MO, and the tulip festival in a little town in Iowa. She worked for the Bank of Strasburg during this time.

By 1986, she had moved back to Aurora, and landed a job with Denver Food Products, (accounts receivables); located right next to the Denver Coliseum, where the workers would watch the circus unload the animals whenever the circus came to town.

She retired at age 65, and moved to Marcella Manor where she lived until she passed in her own apartment home on Aug 29, 2014.

Among the many memorable things about Wanda:
She had always had at least one pet cat, but her favorite was Sam, the Siamese.
She liked music, Jim Reeves, Lawrence Welk, Strauss Waltz's, & Dr. Blue
She liked to go dancing and dining out, with her friend, Frank Given.
She enjoyed traveling, the mountains, and she was a Broncos Fan!

She was very fond of movies, her mother having been a stand-in for Claudette Colbert, we watched many of them with her, from Westerns to Musicals, Romance Comedies to James Bond and Espionage. She was a TV watcher, such shows as: I Love Lucy, Bonanza, Waltons, Dallas, ER, Good Wife, Bronco Games, America's Got Talent, 24, The Price is Right and many others.

In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards with her many lady friends, and Bingo. She really liked to go to the casinos in Central City & in Blackhawk; She had A Big 'PENNEY' Slots win for $2500 in 2005.

Most of all, Wanda will be remembered for her easy going personality, her always kind words, and her unconditional love for her friends, her family, and most especially for her children and grandchildren.
