Wanda Jane Quinn (Bryan), Blondie to family and friends, lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer June 30, 2010, surrounded by her family in her home in Merced, CA. Blondie was born Aug. 31, 1965, the 5th of 8 children from Wanda Jane and Herschel Bryan (deceased). She is survived by her brothers Robert, James, Herschel Jr., Edward, Edwin and Curtis and her dearest sister Marie. Her children Aaron and his wife Jamie, Damian, Herschel III, Nick and Alexandrea Quinn were the love of her life. A resident of Merced County for many years she was born in San Jose, California and worked as an accountant for Merced County Office of Education for many years.

When she was born, Wanda had a bright, white head of hair. It wasn't long before her father gave her the nickname "Blondie." As a child she attended school in Atwater and graduated from Merced High School in 1989. She achieved her associate's degree in accounting from Merced College in 2004, and began working for the college soon after. She married David Quinn in 1991 and had her four boys with him. After her divorce from David she met her second love, Darrel Hunter, who gave her a daughter (Alex) but he sadly passed away leaving her to raise the five children.

She bought a home in Merced to raise her children and always promoted the highest standards of integrity and morality with them. She was always very organized. She loved to rearrange her furniture. On Monday it was one way and by Friday it was a whole new look. Sometimes she liked to pack up and go camping on short notice and would call everybody to get gear and food together to go. She treated everybody equal, from the janitor to the president. Her beauty saw no boundaries in race color or creed. One Easter Sunday she converted to Catholicism and from then on, was devoutly religious.

Blondie loved to travel and especially liked medugorje, Bosnia where she did some hiking in 2008 and again in 2009 with her beloved boyfriend Bob. She will be sorely missed. Please celebrate her life with us.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 562 West 13th Street, Merced. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery 1300 B Street. A reception will follow at the Quinn residence 1790 Stretch Road, Merced.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
