KOTTMAN, Wilbert R., Jr., (Will, Willie), age 83 of Dayton, Ohio went to be with our Lord on March 5, 2014. He was born on Sept. 10, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert R. and Viola Kottman, Sr. and his sister Jean Bohman. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Ella, sons Mark (Lyn) and Bruce (Teri), daughter Pamela Friesel (George). He has eight grandchildren that he loved dearly: Jaci, Levi, Jennifer, Kindal, Nicholas, Nathan, Christopher, and Gregory. KOTTMAN, Wilbert R., Jr., (Will, Willie), age 83 of Dayton, Ohio went to be with our Lord on March 5, 2014. He was born on Sept. 10, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert R. and Viola Kottman, Sr. and his sister Jean Bohman. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Ella, sons Mark (Lyn) and Bruce (Teri), daughter Pamela Friesel (George). He has eight grandchildren that he loved dearly: Jaci, Levi, Jennifer, Kindal, Nicholas, Nathan, Christopher, and Gregory. He also has five great-grandchildren: Dylan, Jalen, Madeline, Jayli, and Archer. He is also survived by brother-in-laws Kenny Bohman and Charles Simpson. Willie and his wife, Ella, looked forward to taking the whole family to Daytona Beach, Fla. every other summer. Willie was a 1948 graduate in Accounting from Miami Jacobs College. He was a Civil Service Employee with the Ohio Air National Guard Stationed in Springfield, OH and served 36 years as a Data Systems Supervisor. He was also a military member of the Springfield Air National Guard where he retired after 37 years as a Chief Master Sergeant. He received honors as Airman of the Year and Employer of the Year. Willie had a large host of friends both locally and also covering many states due to wintering in Florida for a number of years. Willie and Ella have been members of Zion Memorial United Church of Christ for 50 years. Both have been very active in the church serving in many capacities. Willie especially enjoyed singing in the choir. The viewing will be held at the Zion Memorial United Church of Christ at the corner of Stroop Rd. and Dixie Rd. from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 with a church service following at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Arrangements for the funeral have been entrusted to TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Zion Memorial United Church of Christ.
