Mr. Wilfred H. Gastonguay, age 79, of Lynn, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann (Ozahowski) Gastonguay.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Irene (Levesque) Gastonguay. He resided in Lynn for over 50 years and was a longtime communicant of St. Pius V Church, Lynn.
Wilfred served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the G.E. River Works Plant and at the West Lynn Plant manufacturing jet engines.
He enjoyed bowling, walking on the beach, and watching sports.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children Daniel M. Gastonguay of Lynn, John S. Gastonguay and his wife Shannon of Springvale, ME, Linda A. Votano and her husband William of Lynn, and Irene M. Woolf and her husband Kenneth of Lynn, a sister Alma Gallo of Lynn, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Theresa Gagne.
Wilfred's Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Thursday at 9:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10:30AM. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904.
