Willa was born and raised on a farm in Northern Missouri. Upon graduating from Newtown High School in 1945, she attended Chillicothe Business College. It was there she met her future husband, William H. Barr. The couple moved to Kansas City to begin their careers and start their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cliff and Hildred Michael and her brother Rex Michael. Willa is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Barr; her three children Clifford Barr (Mary), W. Kent Barr and Michele O'Rourke; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with another one on the way.
Willa enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, square dancing, and traveling with her husband. She was an avid Royals and Chiefs fan. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly.
The family wishes to thank North Kansas City Hospital for the special care and love she received. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to NorthCare Hospice.

"Michele, so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember her kindness. My prayers are with you. Cathy (Compton) Tate" Cathleen Tate (Kansas City, MO)
