INGRAHAM, WILLIAM "BILL" RONALD Loving husband of Deborah (nee Fraser) Ingraham, of Cambridge. Dear father of Alan Ingraham and Linda Ingraham, both of Cambridge and Grandfather of Thalia. Survived by sister Margaret Baydar, nephew Andy Boyles (Lisa), great niece Emily Boyles, all of Halifax, N.S.. Also survived by mother-in-law Lynda Fraser, Deborah's grandmother, Bernice Fraser and Deborah's Uncle, Bob Fraser (Joyce), all of Cambridge. Survived by sister Margaret Baydar, nephew Andy Boyles (Lisa), great niece Emily Boyles, all of Halifax, N.S.. Also survived by mother-in-law Lynda Fraser, Deborah's grandmother, Bernice Fraser and Deborah's Uncle, Bob Fraser (Joyce), all of Cambridge. Predeceased by parents Ronald and Dorothy (nee Bishop) Ingraham, brother-in-law, Vedat Baydar. He was the son of 1920's-era Maritime sculling champion Ronald Douglas Ingraham. The elder Ingraham, a Saint John, N.B. native, had raced against several US Olympic and world calibre single sculls competitors. Bill's second cousin was famed Canadian speed skater and World Champion Charles Ingraham Gorman. Bill was the 1991 Cambridge Athlete of the Year and was also inducted into the Cambridge Sports Hall of fame in 1998. Together with longtime friend Dr. Bruce Holliday, and several others, he was instrumental in establishing the Cambridge Rowing Club in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Bill's masters rowing career included six world titles, 13 Canadian championships, 14 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta championships and six U.S. National championships. To honour Bill's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 1:00 until the time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
