Normal, IL - William "Dale" Beck, 95, of Normal, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal. He was born April 18, 1915 in Lexington, IL, son of William F. and Ruby J. Allison Beck. He married Geneva R. Hensley in 1939. He later married Velda M. Humphrey Phillips in 1965, she preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two step-daughters, Judy Wheat and Lois Collins and one grandson. Surviving are one daughter, Katharine (Bob) Benson of Geneseo; one son, Charles R. (Lois) Beck of Hudson and one step-son, Robert (Becky) Phillips of Normal. Also...

William "Dale" Beck, 95, of Normal, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal.

He was born April 18, 1915 in Lexington, IL, son of William F. and Ruby J. Allison Beck. He married Geneva R. Hensley in 1939. He later married Velda M. Humphrey Phillips in 1965, she preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two step-daughters, Judy Wheat and Lois Collins and one grandson.

Surviving are one daughter, Katharine (Bob) Benson of Geneseo; one son, Charles R. (Lois) Beck of Hudson and one step-son, Robert (Becky) Phillips of Normal. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; one brother, Farrell (Doris) Beck of Lexington and one sister, June Stoutomayer of Bloomington.

Dale worked as a sales associate at Keiser VanLeer in Bloomington and later at Miller Hardware in Bloomington.

He was also a musician and played for many years in the Howard Jacobs Orchestra and was a member of the Musicians Union.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. A Private entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
