William C. Harper, 98, of Clearwater, passed away January 7, 2018. William was born June 6, 1919 in Green Camp, OH to parents, Glen and Hester Harper. While in high school, he met his future wife, Margaret; they married Feb. 22, 1941. William worked for Green Elevator Co. before serving in the Army Air Forces during World War II. Following his service in the military, he purchased a farm, bought a grocery store, delivered milk, and ultimately retired from the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1972. After his retirement, William and his family moved to Florida in 1977, where he and his wife later settled at St. Mark Village. He was an avid reader, and he thoroughly enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and socializing with friends. William is survived by his loving wife of nearly 77 years, Margaret, as well as her three sons and extended family. A graveside service will be held 2pm Friday, Jan. 12th, in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759.
