William (Bill) Dahlman, age 88, died December 4, 2013 after a brief illness. William was the loving husband of Mary Ann (Weber), son of Alma Leussing and William Christian Dahlman; brother of Elizabeth Vondenbrink and Margaret Flanagan, brother in law of Mark Flanagan. Father to Sally Hagan (John), Mary Sue Lanigan (Jack); Ann Luebbert (Michael) and grandfather to Elizabeth Hagan, Brian Lanigan, Chris Lanigan, Colin O’Brien. Bill grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a World War II veteran who served in the European theatre. He married Mary Ann Weber in 1953; and they recently celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Bill and Mary Ann raised their family in Cleveland, Ohio where Bill worked in commercial construction. He and Mary Ann retired to Atlanta to be in a more moderate climate and to be near their youngest daughter Sally. Bill loved being in and on the water. For most of his life he started the day with a one mile swim. For many years he was an avid boater and the Dahlman family spent many wonderful years on Lake Erie. Later in life, Bill & Mary Ann wintered in Destin, Florida, where Bill enjoyed long distance swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, while Mary Ann patrolled the beach on lookout for sharks. He was never happier than when he was in the water with his daughters or his grandchildren. Bill was devoted to his family; the most wonderful father three girls could ask for and a devoted husband to Mary Ann. Family was everything to Bill. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Honor Flight, P.O. Box 81122, Conyers, Georgia 30013, www.honorflightconyers.com.
A memorial service will be held on Monday December 9 at 1:00 pm at H.M Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30319.

Bill, neighbor and friend, its been a long time but the memories of Brewster and Belvoir linger on. You are often my subject of one tough hombre, and one hell of a guy. It has a been a pleasure and honor to have known you. Rest in peace.
