William Edward White, 89, recently of Raleigh, NC and previously of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at his daughter's residence, surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of Alice Corcoran White.
Born on March 5, 1928 in Geneseo, NY, he was the son of the late Norman White and the late Minnie Bastian White. Bill graduated from the University of Buffalo and served our country in the United States Army. He and his wife were avid square dancers and loved to travel.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
In addition to his wife, Alice, he is survived by his children, William Francis White and wife Lisa, Elizabeth Hirsh and husband Jeff, and Peg Wheeler; eight grandchildren, Katie White, Benjamin White, Bradley White, Leah Balconi and husband Charles, Emmett Wilson and wife Marisa, Alan Wilson and wife Kerri, Lisa Soticheck and husband Mark, and Kelly Quiring and husband Mat; and four great grandchildren, Nathan, Myrah, Ada, and Penelope.
A mass service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Saint Francis of Assisi, 332 S. Main Street, Amherst, VA 24521, with Father Carlos Lerma officiating.
