William Frederick "Bill" Gaffney, a long-time resident of Lynn, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the age of 54. Born in Quincy on May 14, 1962, he was the son of Edward and Margaret "Peg" Rundlett. Bill was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School with the Class of 1981. Bill worked for the past 12 years as a supervisor with the Schwartz and Benjamin Shoe Co. He spent many years enjoying coaching his sons' youth soccer and baseball teams in Lynn. Bill leaves his sons, William M. Gaffney of Beverly, Steven M. Gaffney and Michael Royce, both of Lynn, his parents, Peg and Ed Rundlett of Saugus, his other half, Rebecca Peters of Lynn, his former spouse, Lisa Gaffney of Peabody and his brother, John Rundlett. Bill was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gladys Rundlett. Visiting Hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. LYNN on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 11am to 12:30pm followed by a graveside committal service in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn at 1pm.

To Rebecca and all of bills boys, friends and family, please accept my deepest sympathies. I know bill was very involved with the kids school and athletic activities as well as family vacations. You have many wonderful memories that you shared together, hold tight to them, as they will help you through the hard times. Please keep your chins up and look for him all around you guys, he will be watching over you always.
