I too really enjoyed working for Bill Kipnis - he was always kind to me and "the Marshallonian" (Tavey Wright) - he was one of a kind. My Dan died on June 8th - I suppose the two of them are enjoying "Paradise" together.

Although Bill Kipnis was a principal in my district, I didn't work for him, but I heard many good things about him from teachers who did work for him. I got to know Bill on the teacher's golf league. He was a very good golfer as was his wife who played on his team. We always knew that we faced stiff competition when we played him, but he was always fair and always a gentleman. He will be missed by many. I last saw him at Greco's one night when he was there with friends as I was.

Bill Kipnis was one of a kind. He and I shared a Birthday together all the years I worked as a teacher under his direction. He was the best principal to break in a new teacher. I started teaching under his expertise in September of 1971. I worked for him for 7 years before I was transferred to another school due to declining enrollment. That was when I realized how great a principal he was, compared with the other principals in District #111. He always made me laugh. He said whenever he would come into my classroom he would duck, because he never knew what would be flying in the air. ( As a Science experiment, of
course! ) He will be missed. Janet K. Lence
