I flew model airplanes with Bill for many years, and in addition to enjoying his hobby, he was always trying to help his club become better. He co-ordinated several very nice model airplane meets that were very well known.

Bill was that rare architect - a thoughtful and generous leader with a great sense of humor.

Bill was very friendly, a wonderful role model to look up to, mentor to many, and carried himself with a sense of authority that you just felt good about. I always liked those qualities in him. It was always a joy to see and chat with him on occasion. I enjoyed reading about his other hidden talents.

Bill Beaty was larger than life - a mentor and hero to fellow architects; and a tireless, generous leader in Tennessee. His warm smile and hearty laugh won't be forgotten. Prayers and comfort to Mrs. Beaty, their children and all family and friends. R.I.P. from AIA Tennessee
