.William "Bill" John Rich, 86, a resident of Jamestown, NC and former resident of Caledonia, MI passed away on Sunday March 19, 2017 at the Hospice House of High Point, NC. Bill was born on Christmas Day December 25, 1930 in Caledonia, MI, the son of the late Henry John and Clara Rivard Rich.
Bill was married to Phyllis Cooley who preceded him in death. He later married Patricia Boorsma who also preceded him in death. Bill was also preceded in death by Patricia's son, Marc Dubois. Bill and Patricia enjoyed traveling the country together.
Bill graduated from Caledonia High School he played football. An avid sports fan, he loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and served in Vietnam working as a Transportation Specialist. He retired from the Air Force in 1971 after serving 20 years in places such as Vietnam, Korea, England, Alaska, Arizona, South Dakota and Michigan.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Rich Ruark and husband Mike of Jamestown; step-sons, Mitch and Craig Dubois; grandchildren, Justin T. Ruark, Derek M. Ruark, Brandon S. Ruark, great granddaughter, Desiree Ruark; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Dubois, Elizabeth Dubois, Anthony Dubois; step great grandchildren, Lance, Audrea and Zach Dubois; sister, Faye Pitch of Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Bill's life will held at a later date in Caledonia, MI with interment in Dutton Cemetery beside of his wife Patricia.

Bill's Ashes were buried, on July 24th, 2017 at 10:30 am, there were relatives present for his burial. His military plaque as a retired Air Force Sgt., will be installed when it arrives. He will be missed. American flag has been placed.
