Bill & Family:
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I worked with Newt and Jim Bates in their law practice for a little over ten years, starting right out of law school. Newt was a person of high moral character and well respected in the legal community. His funeral service at First Baptist (where my wife and I were married many years ago) was very meaningful, and the kind remarks about him were well deserved, especially considering his many years of service and devotion to the church. May God bless you as you move forward with your lives and continue to cherish the memories of your loved one.

Bill, your Dad was among the Greats. I have known him for many years. It was a pleasure to be in his company. He set a high example for me to try to follow. I want you to know that you are in our prayers as you try to adjust to a new way of life without him. I wish there were something I could do or say that would help during these days. He will be missed by many of us.

Sincerely,

Norman D. Graham
