Biography

Our beloved “Puppa”, William R. Padovese Sr., 87, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on February 23, 2014. Bill was born December 19, 1926 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Jenny and Arturo Padovese. Bill entered the Air Force in 1941 and returned to Pennsylvania in 1946 to marry the love of his life Norma Jane DeShong on June 28, 1947. Bill completed his schooling when returning from the service and received his High School diploma in 1948. He then entered the Detroit Engineering Institute where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Bill held many positions in life including being a police officer in Phoenix, Arizona. Bill retired as a Chief Engineer in the hotel industry in Las Vegas. Bill was devoted to his family and he shared many experiences with his children and grandchildren. Bill loved all things sports and instilled the love of athletics in his children. If it was a Friday night football game or a Little League baseball game he was in attendance rooting on his children or grandchildren. Bill loved Running with the Rebels and traveled to many games with his family and friends. Bill shared with his family his love of nature by building a cabin in the mountains of Utah which many memories were made for his family. He enjoyed cooking and gardening, always trying to make those tomatoes grow in the desert heat. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jane. Bill is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Jill Padovese Jr., David and Cheri Padovese, Ricky and Tina Padovese, and his daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Allan Carter as well as nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary on Sunday, March 2, 1014 with a viewing from 9:00am – 11:00am and a Funeral Service from11:00am – 12:00pm followed by the Committal Service from12:00pm – 1:00pm.
