William Francis "Buzz" Allen, of Sudbury, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. He was 78 and the beloved husband for 39 years of Marlene (McCabe) Allen. Born in Boston March 1, 1934, he was the son of William F. and Helen (Murray) Allen. He was raised and educated in Boston, graduating from Dorchester High School in 1952. "Buzz" attended the University of Massachusetts where he excelled in football. He played center and linebacker and was named Most Valuable Player in 1956. He was Captain of the Defensive Team and was a member of the All Yankee Conference in 1956 and 1957 and graduated in 1957....

Born in Boston March 1, 1934, he was the son of William F. and Helen (Murray) Allen. He was raised and educated in Boston, graduating from Dorchester High School in 1952. Additional to his wife, Marlene, he leaves his children: Mark Allen of CA; Lisa Allen Elliott and her husband, Robert, of Nashua, NH; Joseph Hickman and his wife, Sandra, of Blackstone; and Clifford Hickman and his wife, Cheri, of CA. Brother of the late Joan Maloney and brother in law of Matthew Maloney of Braintree. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A visitation to celebrate the life of William F. Allen will be held Monday., March 19, from 10:00 am until 1:00 o'clock at the Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury. Interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery., Sudbury, will be private.
