Obituary

Shreveport, LA – William Joseph Archambeau, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on December 17, 2012. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20th at St. Pius X Catholic Church followed by interment in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Bill was born November 18, 1924, in Ironwood, MI. After serving in the Merchant Marines during World War II, he worked 35 years for Cities Service Oil Company and another 28 years for Smith Oil Company in Shreveport. Shreveport, LA – William Joseph Archambeau, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on December 17, 2012. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Bill was born November 18, 1924, in Ironwood, MI. After serving in the Merchant Marines during World War II, he worked 35 years for Cities Service Oil Company and another 28 years for Smith Oil Company in Shreveport. He was a 4th Degree Knight and member of Council 1108 of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member and former President of the North Shreveport Lions Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Bill loved dancing and was a long time member of both the Southern Swingers and the Red River Rounders dance clubs.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Farr Archambeau; his daughter, Debra Morgan; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Morgan. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Tatum and husband, Mark; granddaughter, Rachael Cheatwood and husband, Jubal; grandsons, Russell Morgan and wife, Amanda, and Christopher Tatum and wife, Mimi; and five great-grandchildren.
