William Brunette Obituary

William Edward Brunette, age 82, died, Thursday, November 14, 2013, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born November 29, 1930 to Lawrence Edward "Knobby" and Verna Belle (Ledger) Brunette in Milwaukee WI. At a young age he moved to Rhinelander and worked with his parents as a young boy at City Cleaners; which opened in 1944. He went on to own City Cleaners. William met the love of his life Betty (Elizabeth Marie) Turcotte, and was married January 3, 1953, at St. Mary's Church in Rhinelander. He was drafted and served for two years in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged. He belonged to several organizations including the VFW and Lions Club where he was active with the Eye Bank, and made several trips to Madison to help with transports. He was also involved with the Male Chorus, scouting, stunt night, a member of St. Mary's, where he was active as a Eucharistic Minister and usher. He loved the Packers, hunting, fishing, bowling, and was an avid gardener, and he loved his roses. He attended many dry cleaning conventions and conferences, which he started going to with his father and later with his wife and children.
William is survived by his wife Betty, his children David (LuAnn) Brunette of Rhinelander, Daniel (Cathy) Brunette of Rhinelander, Timothy (Lisa) Brunette of Rhinelander, and Michelle (Todd) Luedtke of Eagle River, his grandchildren Nathan, Tyler, Nicole, Allison, Michael, and Mikaela, and great grandchildren Mary Leona Jagoda, and twins on the way. He is further survived by many family and friends.
William is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wayne and Darrell, sister Viola Stefonek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 11:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord ~ St. Mary's with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Burial will follow at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home, 715-365-4343 is assisting the family with arrangements. All are invited to light a candle and leave an online condolence for William at www.hildebrandfh.com.
