William "Ray" Cannon IRMO - Mr. William "Ray" Cannon "Papa", 82, was called home to join his wife, Blondell Cannon and daughter, Debbie Culley on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. He was also reunited with his father, Merle Cannon; mother, Hassie Cannon and 12 brothers and sisters. Ray was a strong Christian man who was passionate about his Lord and Savior, his family and his friends. He served in the US Army and retired from Richtex Brick. He had a very special love for his daughter, Sandi Brazell who was caring for him and holding his hand until the end. IRMO - Mr. William "Ray" Cannon "Papa", 82, was called home to join his wife, Blondell Cannon and daughter, Debbie Culley on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. He was also reunited with his father, Merle Cannon; mother, Hassie Cannon and 12 brothers and sisters.
Ray was a strong Christian man who was passionate about his Lord and Savior, his family and his friends. He served in the US Army and retired from Richtex Brick. He had a very special love for his daughter, Sandi Brazell who was caring for him and holding his hand until the end. His son-in-law, Larry Brazell was always doing something he wanted to be a part of and he never missed a moment to play with his granddaughters, Zoey Brazell and Gracie Cully. He made many wonderful memories with Josh Culley, Mckenzie, Allen Costner and Lauren Mims also his grandchildren as well as his 2 great-grandchildren, Peyton and Cannon Costner, that kept him busy every chance they got.
Funeral services will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/ St. Andrews Chapel on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with entombment to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the home of Larry and Sandi Brazell, 1803 Marina Rd. Irmo, SC 29063. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to Heartstrings Hospice, 115 Blarney Dr. Suite 109, Columbia, SC 29223.
