Bill and I were very close friends back in our high school days at Upper Arlington. Several of we classmates would assemble at Bill's house after school on a regular basis. Maxine would always have a huge supply of Pepsi Cola and frozen Mars Bars, and we would play pool well into the early evening and later. Most of the guys had a crush on Connie, and that was in no small way one of the attractions of coming over to Bill's house regularly. I'm sure we all overstayed our welcome on several occasions, but Maxine never shooed us away and somehow made us all feel welcome. Bill always had that wonderful little gleam in his eye, suggesting a rye sense of humor always just waiting to spring out. Although I have not seen Bill since our high school days, he has always had a special place in my heart. May he rest in eternal peace.
