Gaiser, William Ray, age 88 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 surrounded by loving family. Bill graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1944 and served in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945. He earned his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1950. Bill was an entrepreneur and creative visionary who founded multiple companies in the moldmaking and container business, including the Broadway Companies and Encon, Inc. Gaiser, William Ray, age 88 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 surrounded by loving family. Bill graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1944 and served in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945. He earned his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1950. Bill was an entrepreneur and creative visionary who founded multiple companies in the moldmaking and container business, including the Broadway Companies and Encon, Inc. He was the first to design and develop a process for injection molding a preform and stretch-blow molding it to form a container, which revolutionized an industry. Bill received many awards for innovative contributions throughout his long career, including induction into the Society of Plastics Engineers Hall of Fame. Bill's restless energy kept him in constant motion. He loved traveling and new experiences of all kinds. He enjoyed a good joke and he loved sailing and airplanes. He took pride in physical fitness and stylish attire throughout his life. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also a consummate gentleman; kind, considerate and generous at all times. Preceded in death by his mother, Gretta, and his father, Ray, Bill is survived by his sister, JoAnne, his wife Sue Story, his children, Debbie, Karin and John, his grandchild, Meagan, his stepson Ben and nephew William. The family would like to give special thanks to Jeanie Luck, Pilar Madrid, and the staff at Brighton Gardens who provided superb care and companionship for Bill. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4-7:00 pm at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. in Centerville. Burial service will be held on Friday, August 22 at 10:30 am at the Tobias Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the , 31 W. Whipp Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459 or Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
