GODWIN, William Roger, 80, passed away on July 20, 2012 in Tampa, FL. William was born on November 22, 1931 in Pelham, GA. He served in the US Air Force in computer systems for 30 years and was also retired from the AAA Autoclub. William was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Tampa, the Masons, and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents Judson and Cora Lee Godwin and son Stephen Godwin. William is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nell Marie Godwin, daughter Stephanie Lomsak, granddaughters Sarah Whiddon and Courtney Lomsak, sister Frances Louise Thompson, and brother Byron Godwin (Marlene). A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2012 from 12:30PM to 2:30PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2:30PM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held at Sylvan Abbey Cemetery in Clearwater, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the First Baptist Church of Port Tampa.
