Obituary

William E. Hatfield, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Parkview Medical Center. He was born to the late Robert and Berteal Hatfield on June 5, 1926 in Fort Wayne, IN. William worked for the Indiana State Police for over 44 years as a mechanic and proudly served during WWII in the United States Navy. He also was a member of Grace Presbyterian and was a life time member of the VFW, Moose, and Navy Club. He is survived by his sister In-law Nancy Hatfield; nephews Robert (Denise) Hatfield and Jim (Lynn) Hatfield; Niece Jody (Alan) Steury; 6 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great niece. Funeral services will be on Wednesday June 11, 2014 at 11:00am with calling 1 hour prior at Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 Wells St. Calling will also be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Funeral Home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials to Parkview Hospice or the SPCA.
