William L. Heroux, age 92, of Somerset died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Anita F. (Arel) Heroux for the past 67 years. Born in Fall River, a son of the late George R. and Wilhelmine (Poirier) Heroux, he was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, class of 1940 and has lived in Somerset for the past 65 years. A Somerset Firefighter for 24 years, he retired in 1977 and was a member of the Somerset Firefighters Bowling League. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Touisett Country Club, the former Suspiro Country Club and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus in Swansea. A United States Navy...
William L. Heroux, age 92, of Somerset died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Anita F. (Arel) Heroux for the past 67 years.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late George R. and Wilhelmine (Poirier) Heroux, he was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, class of 1940 and has lived in Somerset for the past 65 years.

A Somerset Firefighter for 24 years, he retired in 1977 and was a member of the Somerset Firefighters Bowling League. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Touisett Country Club, the former Suspiro Country Club and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus in Swansea.

A United States Navy Veteran, he served on the USS Missouri Battleship and was on board when the Peace Treaty was signed in 1945 and was a member of the American Legion Post 228 in Somerset.

Surviving in addition to his wife: son: William G. Heroux and his wife Donna of Somerset, daughter: Ann R. Conaty and husband George of Wrentham, two grandchildren: Robert Viveiros and Martha Buchanan, four great-grandchildren: Alexander and Katie Viveiros, Arianna Boling and Nathan Anctil, brother: Paul R. Heroux and wife Mary of Fairhaven and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late George Heroux and Irene Adams.

His funeral will be held Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 9 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT ROSE E. SULLIVAN, 866 County Street, Somerset with a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours Monday 4PM-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 182 No Main St., Fall River, MA 02720 or Forever Paws, 300 Lynwood Dr., Fall River, MA 02721. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
